• Kahawa Ya Congo and La Cumplida Refinada are available again

The first Limited Edition pods of 2022 are both a return of two past ones. Kahawa Ya Congo and La Cumplida Refinada are popping up here and there in some markets, mainly the European ones. We have no concrete info whether they will be re-released worldwide yet. Those who haven’t had a chance to taste the forest-inspired Limited Editions of last year may still find the last pods in a handful of countries. Most shops have exhausted the Forest Black, Forest Fruit Flavour and Forest Almond Flavour capsules though. They are going to disappear worldwide very soon.

    Forest Black Review

Origin: shade-grown beans from Colombia and others. Intensity: 7 Roasting: 3 Acidity: 2 Bitterness: 3 Body: 3 A 2021 festive limited edition pod. Light brown foam. Moderate aroma, sweet, woody, slightly earthy. A pod with a subdued aroma, not in your face, delicate. Primarily bitter at the taste, with a medium body. A dark roast, but not extremely so. Dry aftertaste, woody as well as the mouthfeel. Subtly acidic, balancing the initial bitterness as the coffee becomes colder. In the taste profile the woodiness dominates, leaving only traces of cereals and pepper to be tasted. A coffee with medium intensity, overall very balanced, just a bit “flat” in taste as…

    Forest Almond Flavour Review

A 2021 festive limited edition, almond flavoured. Light brown foam. Very almond-filled aroma, sweet and moderately intense. A bit of vanilla undertones in it. Hard to take it as a classic coffee smell, though, but generally agreeable. Dry and light-bodied, less sweet in taste compared to the aroma. Delicate notes of roastiness, with a slight saltiness that concentrates in the aftertaste. The almond flavouring is dominating this pod’s taste profile. Vague tones of cereals and a feeble milky acidity are also present. Neither is prominent, being at most an accompanying component to the almond’s flavour. Slightly bitter, a bit of vanilla tones when the coffee cools down, low intensity. A…

    Forest Fruit Flavour Review

A 2021 festive limited edition pod, with a cherry flavouring. Light brown foam. Supremely sweet aroma, intensely of cherries. Hardly any trace of roastiness or any aspects that can classify the small as one of a typical coffee. Definitely an unique aroma. Medium bodied and somewhat dry, initially, the cherry flavour dominates the taste profile as with the aroma. Biscuits and cereals can be noticed, mostly in the aftertaste. A granularity in the mouthfeel makes this coffee taste like a “liquid cherry cake”, just much less sweet. It may resemble some candies with cherries or raspberries, and increasingly so when added some sugar to it. Perhaps surprisingly not high in…

  • Nespresso Forest Collection’s 3 pods are the limited edition new releases for this festive season

As every year, a new line of limited edition capsules is coming for this Christmas. This year the collection will be inspired by forest flavors, with a line of capsules designed by the Colombian luxury brand Johanna Ortiz. There will be 3 new pods, both for the Original and Vertuo systems: Forest Black: spicy and woody, the one that will probably be the most appreciated by pure espresso lovers. Forest Fruit: a fruity one, inspired by forests’ berries. Most definitely the sweetest and most acidic of the bunch. Forest Almond: named after the nut but it is described as nutty and with lots of cereals,. Seems to be the most…
