Barista Creations line getting an overhaul this year
The Barista Creations line has not seen much changes in the last months. This should change this year as a complete renaming of some of its pods plus new ones is coming. In the Original Line, the current Vanilla Eclair, Caramel Creme Brulee and Cocoa Truffle will become simply Vaniglia, Caramello and Cioccolatino. Much more italian-sounding names. An addition to the line will be Nocciola, which will be an hazelnut-based pod. Cocoa Truffle review
Brown foam. Definite smell of cocoa. More acidic at first taste than one’d expect, with of course the cocoa flavour being the dominant one. Acidity subsides at lower temperatures. Medium bodied. Overall much lower cocoa tones than in the old Ciocattino, making for a balanced cup. Inconsistent crema. Perhaps the medium roasting didn’t marry well with the flavouring. Whereas Ciocattino was resembling of a dark chocolate bar, this is like the cocoa powder of a truffle, indeed, or of that over a tiramisù. A different flavouring, definitely.

Vanilla Eclair, Caramel Crème Brûlée and Cocoa Truffle are available in most markets now
The new flavoured capsule line is being introduced as a revamping of the classic trio of Vanilio, Ciocattino and Caramelito, now officially starting their phasing out. Stock them as soon as possible if you love as there’s no guarantee the new ones will exactly replace their taste profile. Curiously the new capsules are grouped together the other Barista Creations lines released last year. That makes us think that the new blends are meant to be drank with milk, unlike the old ones.

Flavoured Nespresso capsules available in the US
Since a few days, the revamped class of flavoured pods has been released in the US. As previously announced, the new capsules are Vanilla Eclair, Caramel Creme Brulee and Cocoa Truffle. No news if they will be released in other markets as of yet.

Flavoured capsules being revamped too
Soon, possibly by around mid February already, the flavoured capsules, Ciocattino, Vanilio and Caramelito will be revamped too, as recently happened to the Ispirazione Italiana new line. Nothing is known for certain so far but for the new names that will be: Ciocattino -> Cocoa Truffle Caramelito -> Caramel Crème Brulée Vanilio -> Vanilla Eclair It is possible that they will have a different taste as it is rumored they won’t be based off Livanto anymore but they will get their own blend.
