A Master Origins 2021 limited edition. A low-water usage, fermented coffee from Nicaragua.
Light brown foam. Immediately the senses are assaulted by an intense, pungent aroma of very mature or candied fruits. A strong smell that can remind of fortified wine or cherry-based liqueurs. Unlike most other Nespresso pods.
Dry and velvety at the first sip, it is full of acidity and some sweetness. A medium intensity coffee, it has a strong and lasting aftertaste, with the coffee swirling around all the palate’s sides and leaving its taste all over the mouth. A semblance of herbals, like green leaves, black tea and rosemary, can be discerned behind the fruity acidity but it is feeble, barely noticeable.
A good bodied pod with high acidity that oscillates between the flavor of cherries and candied fruits, with a citrus-like acidity that underlines it all. Wildly fruity. Persisting crema.
It has some resemblance with the Nordic Cloudberry. Similar to it, the La Cumplida Refinada has lots of fruity acidity and some herbal qualities, but it has none of the medicinal and acridity of the Nordic Variations line pod. Both have in common having a definite, much unlike any other, “un-coffee” flavor.
Fruity, sweet and rich, its acidity can make this pod an unique experience that is very easy to either love or hate, no half measures. To be tasted with a generous teaspoon of sugar to contrast some acidity and enhance the sweetness, making it more balanced.

Oh youre smelled funky too??
I thought mine was rancid or something..

Fermented, more like. Rancid would have a negative meaning that we don’t feel it’d be just towards La Cumplida Refinada.

I don’t find it a good taste similar to other comments thought it was off

This is the first sleeve of Nespresso (after over ten years of ordering sleeves) that neither of us wants to even finish the sleeve. Tastes like the milk/cream went bad in it. Really disappointing.

That’s probably the fermented aspect of this coffee. It may resemble of something too mature, thus “bad”, and be off putting to some. You may want to avoid fermented pods in the future then.

Probably the worst Nespresso coffee I ever had,
