An Arabica and Robust multi-origin blend from Sumatran and Indian coffee. Organic, Fairtrade and 100% aluminium capsules.
Brown foam. Strong aroma, of cereals with a component of smokiness. Very noticeable.
At first taste it’s not bitter at all, lightly acidic, medium body. The smokiness is predominant, with a subtle, molasses-like, sweetness.
A coffee that definitely can remind you of a whisky, not a Bourbon but a not very peaty Scotch. At lower temperatures the sweetness assumes a more liquorice aspect, with acidity becoming more upfront.
With added sugar, it’s too markedly sweet and lose some of the other flavours. As a dark roast, it’s thoroughly and surprisingly never bitter.
