Light brown foam. Intensely acidic aroma, with a subtle sweetness. Red berries, flowers and banana aromas can be smelled.
Smooth and medium-lasting crema. At the taste it is quite light bodied, with a tinge of roastiness amid plenty of juicy acidity. Delicately fruity overall, little aftertaste when hot and next to nothing when lukewarm.
Sweeter in the aroma than in taste, it has just a bit of red berries’ sweetness to be noticed. Papua New Guinea is a low intensity pod, gentle and smooth.
Red berries flavours are present in the taste profile but more prominent is white grapes’ flavour. With the floral component and general lightness, Papua New Guinea feels like a white wine made into coffee.
This pod can be watery when brewed as a lungo. Better results as an espresso. Can be used in a latte or macchiato but it is highly probable its taste profile will disappear among milk or lots of sweeteners.
Overall a delicate pod, less fruity than expected, more wine-y and flowery. Strikingly resembling a white wine as no other Nespresso pods so far.
