Nespresso reducing capsules’ availability
Temporarily due to the COVID19 crisis, Nespresso has officially been narrowing down production of some capsules and reducing the scale of work of some of their factories to prevent spreading the virus and the risk of infection among the employees. That is then the cause of the temporarily out of stock of some capsules, like Ispirazione Napoli of late. It’s therefore probable that until the COVID19 crisis will subside, occasional unavailability of some capsules will happen. Let’s hope everybody can be healthy and safe as soon as possible so we can all be back enjoying life and our beloved coffee as before.

Ispirazione Napoli out of stock?
The new Ispirazione Napoli was supposed to be available for the US market again on 20/04 but it’s currently listed out of stock. At the same time in many other markets (Germany, Uk, Poland and others but Canada has it) it is not listed at all on the Nespresso online shop. There are rumors of stocking issues and the need of resupplying the beans before producing the capsules again. If you are a fan of the flavour, I’d buy it as soon as you can as it is unknown when it’ll be back (on Amazon is still somewhat available).

The Ispirazione Italiana line is officially available in US too
For those on the other side of the Atlantic who were waiting to try the revamped capsules and the additions of Ispirazione Venezia and Ispirazione Napoli, it’s possible to order them from the official Nespresso US website now.

Ispirazione Napoli review
Origin: a blend of Robusta from Uganda and India with Arabica from South America Intensity: 13 Roasting: 5 Order: Buy Ispirazione Napoli capsules at Amazon The darkest roast to be added to the Original Nespresso line so far. Dark brown foam. Permeating aroma, woody and nicely sweet. Burnt qualities and a noticeable licorice component are present in the smell. Not very “coffee-like”, quite unique instead. In the cup it is very dry and salty. No traces of sweetness when hot, only some when lukewarm. Strong bitter aftertaste, similar to a Kazaar cup, but far more salty. Definitely a dark roast, with a thick body, velvety in the mouth and lots…

New Ispirazione Italiana line is available
The rebranding of capsules we announced a while ago is live in most european countries (not yet US it seems). There’s also a short presentation video for the new line. Nespresso seems to have taken inspiration from italian coffee by matching the darker roasts to southern cities, like Napoli and Palermo, and progressively going to lighter ones as you travel north through the italian peninsula. We doubt this actually reflects the preferences of italians as distributed in the cities giving the name to the new line though. An oversimplification for marketing reasons.

Rebranding of some capsules
According to various sources (Nespresso Uk website and the newsletter), there will be a rebranding of some original line capsules and a welcome return. In short: Dharkan is being phased out in favour of “Ispirazione Napoli“. This will be a different blend with a different profile. Kazaar is being renamed as “Ispirazione Palermo“. Ristretto will be named “Ispirazione Ristretto Italiano”. Arpeggio will be named “Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio“. Roma will change only the name in “Ispirazione Roma“. Livanto will undergo a rebranding to “Ispirazione Genova Livanto“. Café Venezia will make a return as “Ispirazione Venezia” with an updated flavour profile: Nespresso claims it will have notes of sweet caramel with an…

Ispirazione Napoli is briefly available (US only)
Just for a few days, up to 20th December, the new Ispirazione Napoli is available on the Nespresso US website to purchase. Officially it will be back for good on March 2020, probably worldwide. The rumors that Dharkan was going to be discontinued in favour of Ispirazione Napoli seem then to be more probable. We love Dharkan but the aromatic profile and intensity (13) of this Ispirazione Napoli are interesting enough to make us not too sad for the old capsule to go. Nespresso would make us happier to add more stable capsules sometimes instead of always removing one to add another one.
