A limited edition capsule of Ugandan coffee, part of the Reviving Origins line.
Light brown foam. Intensely woody, of sandalwood to be precise, and incense-like aroma. Peculiar and very much unlike any other Nespresso pod.
At the first taste this coffee is very floral, with a strong, and perhaps unexpected, sour aftertaste. A medium-bodied pod, with average bitterness and a vivid acidity. Not fruity though.
The intense floral and sandalwood notes can remind of a quality perfume, not exactly of a coffee. It has a quite distinct taste that puts it apart from all other pods’ lines of Nespresso.
This unusual taste becomes more typical as the coffee cools down, bringing to the palate more bitter and roasty notes, making it feel like a typical coffee. With a good amount of sugar the added sweetness tones down the floral elements and cancels the sour aftertaste.
Quite persisting crema. Amaha awe Uganda is a capsule with a milky acidity that is overcome by the floral and sandalwood flavors. It can work great with both a heavy milk and a very light one, or a milk alternative, depending on whether you want to enhance the acidity or the floral notes.
