• Nespresso 2023 Festive Limited Editions

    Nespresso seasonal flavors 2023 revealed

Most of us have been waiting for news about this year’s Nespresso holiday flavors and we have a sneak peek now. Unlike the recent years, there will not be a fruity flavor this Christmas but otherwise the line-up of the three new limited editions looks similar to the past years. Festive Black Espresso should be the classic black coffee experience. If the recent years are to be followed, it will probably be a medium intensity coffee, with a straightforward taste profile. Frosted Caramel Nuts is a caramel pecan flavored coffee. Thus, fairly sweet and nutty. Seasonal Delight Spices is clearly spices-rich, with cinnamon, cloves and “spice cake” named as the…

  • Nespresso launches Number 20 coffee pods

Named by Nespresso “probably the most precious coffee in the world”, it is a celebrative pod that is being launched in a few markets so far. Australia and New Zealand, but we also saw smaller European markets like Slovakia. It will probably become available in many markets soon. This Number 20 pod is a coffee from Colombia that was carefully selected at Nespresso to offer an unique experience. Fully Arabica, with orange blossom and citrus named in the taste profile, Number 20 should be an interesting coffee pod. We have not tried it yet so we can’t confirm the quality of this pod, but it is refreshing to see that…

  • Pumpkin Spice Cake is available already

Punctual as every year at the end of the summer, Pumpkin Spice Cake is making is re-appearance in a few markets, Canada and US included. Both for Original and Vertuo lines. Initially there was a 40 sleeves order limit but it was removed shortly after and now orders are without limits. We are sure that Pumpkin Spice Cake will soon be available in many other markets, as usual for this beloved Nespresso pod.

  • Nespresso compostable pods available in France

As announced last year, the partially new line of compostable pods from Nespresso is out on the french market. The line is exactly how we gained info about earlier, made of the repackaged Peru Organic and three new pods: Ispirazione Sicilia, Ispirazione Emilia, and Ispirazione Aosta. Hopefully these will be slowly making their appearance in other markets before the end of the year.

  • Lack of updates on the Original line

You have probably noticed our lack of updates on new or returning Nespresso pods. That was not our choice but a consequence of Nespresso’s decision. It is clear how in 2023 the focus of the company was in releasing new pods for the Vertuo line mostly, and leaving only returning pods to the Original line. The Vertuo got some interesting flavors like Whisky Essence, Vanilla, Chocolate, Golden Caramel, Juicy Watermelon Flavor Over Ice plus a plethora of returning pods like Honduras, Hawaii Kona, Jamaica Blue Mountain etc. On the other side, the Original Line has seen a refresh of the Barista Creations line with new Caramello, Cioccolatino, Nocciola, and Vaniglia;…

    Nocciola Review

Light brown foam. Intense hazelnuts aroma, completely overpowering any typical coffee smell. A pod with a medium body, and medium roasted, with average intensity. It is very creamy, with a velvety mouthfeel. Rather dry and mostly acidic and bitter, in mostly equal parts when the coffee is hot. It possesses some sweetness, showing qualities of a sweetened hazelnuts spread. The hazelnut flavoring clearly dominates the taste profile, but notes of cereals, biscuits, ripe banana, and licorice can be tasted as well. While the top of this coffee is mainly dry and velvety, the bottom has a peculiar oily mouthfeel. It feels as two different coffee layered on top of each…

    Alfredo Espresso Caffè Lungo

Light brown foam. A coffee with a delicately roasted aroma, quite sweet. At the taste it is mainly a mix of bitterness and sweetness. A dark roast, with a thick body but that never feels heavy. Dry, and even drier at lower temperatures. Some light acidity is present, like of a not too sweet cantaloupe. A coffee pod that is primarily bitter and sweet though, with predominant flavors of bell pepper, black pepper, and vague woodiness. The latter completes well the melon-like acidity and sweetness that underline the whole taste profile. Long lasting crema. A pod of medium intensity, suggested to be drank as a lungo. It works well as…
