Dharkan is officially being discontinued

The rumors were true and Dharkan is going away soon, as soon as the stocks end, which will be at the latest March 2020 as Nespresso itself is planning to not sell it anymore by that date. Lovers of Dharkan should then stock it up as soon as possible.

  1. Am very disappointed. I’m new to Nespresso and tried various flavours but found Dharkan was my favourite - in fact the only one I really liked. Don’t know what I’m going to do now. They suggested trying two new Italian style flavours that came out but I found them a bit bitter.

    1. It was a bold move, many loved Dharkan’s caramel notes. There’s no close replacement among the Nespresso Original Line capsules, but we found the old Cafe Istanbul the closest one in taste to Dharkan. Unfortunately, it’s not a standard flavour but a limited edition.

  2. Have had Nespresso machines (together with our normal espresso maker and a standard coffe machine) for many years and during the last years Dharkan been our clear favourit with about 60-70 % of our purchase. We will of course continue to use our Nespresso but as a result to a much minor degree.

  3. Dharkan was by far my favourite! I have been waiting and waiting to see my supermarket offering it again, not realizing it was being discontinued. Very disappointed.

    1. Starbucks’ Verona could be the closest to the profile of the old Dharkan. Try it. If you weren’t particularly attached to the caramel flavour of Dharkan, Kazaar and Ispirazione Napoli aren’t that different

  4. I only drank Dharkan. I tried all the others and at this point I will have to switch to a different brand (Starbucks) or maybe just change coffee machine and change everything

    1. There are many compatible Nespresso capsules. We have been reviewing a few. Try as many as you can, we have found that caramel notes that were so strong in Dharkan are quite common outside the classic Nespresso original line.
